I love Star Frontiers. It gave me so many years of amazing science fiction fun. To date, no science fiction RPG has come close to providing the feel of this now out-of-print game.
My goal, through digitally re-mastering the original rules, is to bring about a small Star Frontiers Revival… bringing fans together to create something out of these publicly available rules that we are all proud of.
It’s important to note that none of the main rulesbooks that I’ve “re-mastered” are original. I didn’t make the rules. I clarified a few things, added some examples, reorganized the rules to make it flow like a modern RPG product, and threw in some artwork. But the game is unchanged. It’s very important to me, as we add rules, gear, and guidelines, that we don’t change the feel of the original game. After all, there must be some reason I keep coming back to this game; change it too much and it breaks.
