La World Transhumasit Association nous propose sur son site les résultats d’un sondage fait auprès de ses membres sur leur perception du transhumanisme. La lecture du rapport est assez intéressante, notamment ce passage :
Asking about political self-identity, there is a substantial trend toward increasing left-wing orientation, from 36% of respondents in 2003 to 47% in 2007. The category “technoprogressive” was offered for the first time this year, and garnered 16% of the respondents. The increase in left-wing orientations was accompanied by slight declines in the libertarian, conservative, apolitical and other categories.
Ce changement d’orientation politique peut être inquiétant, en effet, un transhumanisme individuel ne représente aucun de dangers directs pour ceux qui n’adhèrent pas aux présupposés philosophiques qu’il nécessite et aux conséquences morales qu’il implique ; en revanche, un transhumanisme étatique, public ou collectif, imposerait ses choix à tous.
