Look what they have found in Chelyabinsk city. The story is that there was a construction site with a deep foundation ditch. They have touched some underground river in that place so the water in the ditch didn’t get away so it stayed there full of water. Then some workers a few months later spotted some movement in this water, they threw some pieces of their lunch in the trench which caused a big activity inside. They were puzzled who is there? And caught one thing up then in big panic stepped away cause it tried to bite them so they had to kill it with some equipment and here are the remains of it. It was around 5 feet length.

Les commentaires sont très intéressants (et parfois à mourir de rire), toujours est-il que cet animal est sans doute un triops et que sa taille n’est pas « around 5 feet », mais plutôt « around 5 inch » comme le fait remarquer un commentateur au regard de la courbure du bord de la flaque d’eau…

Cela dit, on vient de découvrir…

The sea scorpion Jaekelopterus rhenaniae, nicknamed « Jake », is thought to have lived 390 million years ago and, given this claw is about half a metre long, is estimated to have been around 2.5 m long – almost half a metre longer than previous estimates and the largest ever to have evolved.

Comme quoi, de grosses bêtes de cette espèce, c’est possible. Et des bêtes d’autres « espèces » encore plus grosses qui ne sont pas mortes puisqu’elles dorment, c’est tout à fait possible, aussi…
