Japanese researchers at the Waseda University in Tokyo aim to use the technology to make future robots better at interacting with humans. What will really happen, of course, is that the humans involved will be completely freaked out. Much better then, is the side project: cloning people’s faces. A quick 3D scan and the Waseda-Docomo Face Robot 2 (WD-2’s kennel-name) will mimic anyone. Add a little bit of makeup and a wig and you have the beginnings of Terminator 2.
